01 — The ask

Make AI-generated training feel professional, polished, and on par with traditional video.

Winthorpe is building an AI-based learning platform that can help life sciences companies create ophthalmology training content faster and more efficiently than traditional custom video production. The core model relies on AI-supported scripting, voiceover, and narration – but the value of the final training experience depends heavily on the quality of the visual layer.

Steadfast would support the platform by helping identify the right moments for on-screen visuals, shaping the visual system for the videos, and creating refined slide layouts, callouts, graphics, and medical illustrations that make the content easier to follow, more credible, and as polished and trusted as traditionally produced video.

What this proposal optimizes for

  • AI accelerates the base video – scripting, voiceover, and narration are generated on-platform.
  • Steadfast adds the credibility layer – structure, hierarchy, scientific design, and illustration polish.
  • Upfront cost stays manageable – without underselling the production work.
  • The model is repeatable – so cost per video is easy to estimate as the library grows.

02 — The model

A repeatable production system, not one-off video builds.

The engagement is structured in two layers: a one-time visual foundation, then a predictable per-video production cost. This keeps quality consistent and makes budgeting straightforward as the number of videos grows.

A

Initial visual system setup

One-time before individual video production begins

Similar to developing a polished video-slide system, Steadfast creates the core visual style for the AI-generated training videos so each video doesn't need to be designed from scratch. The style should feel clean, modern, scientific, and ophthalmology-appropriate – polished but flexible enough to serve multiple life sciences brands without being tied to any one client's brand unless requested.

Potential deliverables

  • Video visual system direction
  • Typography & colour recommendations
  • Slide layout / template system
  • Title, section, callout & content slide styles
  • Medical illustration style direction
  • Icon & graphic treatment direction
  • Example slides demonstrating the system
  • Guidance for applying the system to future videos
B

Per-video production model

Repeatable per 8–10 minute training video

Each video assumes the client provides a developed, final script before Steadfast begins. Steadfast is not responsible for script development in the base model – this keeps production lean and avoids unnecessary cost.

Base assumption per video

  • 8–10 minute video, client-provided script
  • Steadfast reviews the script for visual opportunities
  • Steadfast builds a slide / graphic plan
  • 8–12 refined slides or visuals designed
  • Medical graphics / illustrations created or refined as needed
  • Animation is optional and priced separately

Per-video workflow

From script handoff to a video-ready visual package.

Client responsibility Steadfast responsibility
1

Script handoff from client

Client responsibility

Client provides a developed, final script, including the training objective, intended audience, key scientific points, and any required claims, references, or approved language.

  • Developed, final script
  • Scientific references / source material
  • Product, disease-state, or compliance constraints
  • Review and approval from internal stakeholders
2

Storyboarding / visual planning

Scientific writer / content strategist

Review the script and identify where visuals make the training clearer, more engaging, or more valuable – including on-screen text, graphics, medical illustrations, callouts, and potential animation moments.

  • Review of script / scientific narrative
  • Identification of ideal graphical opportunities
  • Refined text for slides & on-screen callouts
  • Rough visual plan or slide-form storyboard
  • Recommendations for graphics, illustration & optional animation
  • Hand-off notes for designer / illustrator · 1–2 feedback rounds
3

Slide & graphics creation

Designer · scientific illustrator (as needed)

Create the actual slide and visual assets that pair with the AI-generated voiceover and video narrative.

  • 8–12 slides or visuals per video
  • Layout & formatting of text slides into the visual template
  • Refined callouts and key-message slides
  • Custom or adapted medical illustrations, where needed
  • Integration of refined stock or provided visuals where appropriate
  • Export-ready visual assets for the AI video platform
4

Integration with the final AI video

Client or Steadfast · optional service

The refined visuals are combined with the AI-generated video and avatar. Two ways to handle it:

  • Client incorporates – Steadfast delivers final assets numbered in the sequence they appear, at no added cost.
  • Steadfast merges – a Steadfast video editor combines the visuals with the AI video, as an optional add-on ($1,200 per video).
Optional add-on

Animation

Scientific animator / motion designer

A lighter 2D animation layer that brings static illustrations or slide visuals to life – not full 3D mechanism-of-action animation. Recommended only once the static model is validated or when a specific video needs greater visual emphasis.

  • 4–6 light animation moments per video
  • Motion applied to selected graphics, callouts, or simplified sequences
  • First-cut review · up to 2 rounds of revisions
  • Final export-ready animation assets

Priced separately – see budget.

Lean-model recommendation: begin with static graphics and refined slide visuals only. Animation can be added once the production model is validated or when a specific video warrants greater visual emphasis.

05 — Budget approaches

Two clear pricing paths.

A standard path and a lower-upfront hybrid path. Both begin with a one-time visual system setup; per-video costs are repeatable, so spend is easy to project as the library grows.

One-time visual system setup

A fixed, one-time fee to build the visual system – typography, colour, slide templates, callouts, and illustration style – so every video starts from a finished foundation. Applies once, before any videos.

$8,500fixed

Per-video pricing – two ways

Recommended
Standard model
$12,000–$14,500per static video
No deferral — paid in full
Cleanest and fastest path
Hybrid model
$9,500paid upfront, per video
+ capped royalty: 6% of attributable net revenue, max $10,000 / video
Lower upfront cost with capped upside

Optional add-ons (either model)

Animation
$5,000–$7,500 / video

4–6 light 2D animation moments that bring key visuals to life. Not full 3D mechanism-of-action.

Final-video integration
$1,200 / video

A Steadfast editor merges the visuals into the final AI video. Otherwise we deliver numbered assets to drop in at no added cost.

How the hybrid model works

Winthorpe pays a lower upfront amount for each video. That upfront amount protects the cost of developing the work, including coordination and contractor-based illustration. A limited portion of Steadfast's creative margin is then deferred into a capped royalty, tied only to paid deployments that use the Steadfast-supported video.

Standard video value$13,500
Paid upfront$9,500
Deferred creative amount$4,000
Royalty6% of net revenue
Royalty cap$10,000 / video
Term36 months
Buyout option$7,000 / video

In plain terms: Winthorpe reduces upfront cost without leaving the work underfunded. Steadfast carries a limited, capped amount of creative-margin risk in exchange for success-based upside. Final terms can be adjusted based on scope and deployment model.

Getting started — paid in full

The simplest way to begin, with nothing deferred: the one-time setup plus your first standard video. The same per-video price then applies to each additional video.

$8,500Setup · fixed + $12,000–$14,500First standard video = $20,500–$23,000To launch, paid in full

Prefer a lower upfront start? Apply the hybrid model instead: $8,500 setup + one $9,500 video, plus the capped royalty above.

Stock assets, where appropriate. To manage budget and timeline, some visuals may start from licensed stock – eye imagery, 3D anatomical models, or other base graphics – with custom elements and keys added on top. Any stock asset over $50 per asset is quoted and approved before use.

08 — Recommended next step

Start with the setup and one standard video.

This gives Winthorpe a polished visual foundation, a realistic production timeline, and a clear cost-per-video structure before scaling into a larger library.

  1. Confirm scope and final pricing
  2. Confirm the first video topic and script readiness
  3. Decide whether the first video includes animation or stays static-only
  4. Develop the initial visual system
  5. Produce the first video visual package
  6. Review production timing, cost & scalability before expanding
